Emergency Equipment

GME 403 406Mhz EPIRBEmergency Equipment - 406 MHz Maritime Beacons or EPIRBs as they are commonly known as are essential boating equipment for any vessel that ventures a few miles out to sea.  The minimum safety equipment a vessel should have onboard is a VHF Radio and flares.  For less than $600, you can add a 406 EPIRB or a PLB to your safety equipment.  Finding any vessel in poor conditions can be very difficult for rescuers.  Having a 406 EPIRB or PLB narrows the search zone dramatically saving time, cost and possibly the life of those onboard a distressed vessel.

The International Cospas-Sarsat System ceased satellite processing of 121.5/243 MHz beacons back on 1 February 2009. If you still own and rely on the older style 121.5/243 MHz beacon you should replace this as soon as possible. Only 406 MHz beacons are now detected by the Cospas-Sarsat satellite system.

See the menu to the left and check out the range of EPIRBs and PLB's we sell.  Please contact us if you require any additional information.
